As this is our family holiday cottage, it contains many of the things that you'd expect to find in a full-time home.
Pets are very welcome and have a bespoke bed in the kitchen.
Central heating is by oil-fired boiler which also heats the water.
The modern kitchen is equipped with:
double oven and grill
automatic washing machine
iron and ironing board
crockery, glassware, cutlery etc. for six people
The open plan living/dining room is comfortably furnished with a settee, armchairs, dining table and chairs, an open fire - which will be laid for your arrival - TV, DVD player, a library of DVDs and books, and a sunny window seat ideal for curling up on with a book.
An Acorn stairlift helps link the ground and first floors.
Telephones are located in various rooms - they operate on an 'honesty box' principle. The mobile phone signal in the valley is patchy, but unlimited free WiFi is provided.
Linen and bedding are provided for the double and twin beds and there are electric blankets available for the chillier winter nights.
The spare folding bed and inflatable mattress can be used either upstairs or downstairs, but they're only advisable for short stays. Please bring sleeping bags if you're planning to use these.
Pets are welcome, but downstairs only please. There is a gate across the stairs and a fitted dog bed in the kitchen.
Please only smoke outside.
In common with other holiday cottages, we ask that you clean the cottage at the end of your stay and leave it as you found it.
Originally a 'one-up one-down' miner's cottage (it has Grade 2 Listing for its importance to the heritage of the area), we have sympathetically extended Brackenbury over the years to provide spacious accommodation without losing its traditional charm.
The open plan living/dining room has a bright sunny aspect with views across the village green and down the Glaslyn valley.
The adjacent kitchen is in the modern extension and is fully equipped with all the appliances you would expect. It leads out to the conservatory, which is great for leisurely breakfasts or enjoying a glass of wine as the sun goes down.
Just off the kitchen is also the drying room and the downstairs shower room and toilet.
Upstairs, the front bedroom looks out to Moel Hebog and the Glaslyn valley - it has a double bed and en-suite bathroom, perfect for a hot soak after a full day in the mountains or at the beach.
The rear bedroom has views up the valley towards the Snowdon range. It is twin bedded and there is also a travel cot available.
Outside there is a small front patio, in full sun for afternoon tea.
The rear 'sun-trap' garden has a lawned area, patio and seating.
There is a secure garage with ample storage space for mountain/road bikes, golf trolleys, canoes, etc.
There is space for parking immediately outside the property and further space at the end of the Terrace.
